The case of a Jet Blue pilot who completely melted down has many calling for greater screening of pilots and flight attendants. We need to be careful here. These are very rare incidents. And, as we've seen with the TSA, any opening given to them and they'll take it - and then some.

Restraint is a good thing in most cases, and should be followed here as well.

Airports in the NYC area have announced plans to fine air ragers who don't shut off their portable electronic devices when asked. Good for them!

I could fill many books - and I have - of TSA indiscretions and overreach.

This most recent case, however, is beyond the pale. It is the groping of a wheelchair bound child at Chicago's O'Hare International.
