Very quietly and with little fanfare, the obtrusive, expensive, and ineffective full-body "naked x-ray" machines are going away.
Deployed in force after the failed underwear bomber of December 2009, the machines were a knee-jerk overreaction then; and another example of TSA overreach now.

Based upon bad performance last year at Newark International, 40 TSA screeners have been on the verge of getting fired.
It speaks poorly that it has taken a year to get to this point. And, demonstrates the difficulty of making any substantive changes with the Agency.

It seems more and more passengers are feigning disabilities so that they go in a wheelchair through airport security.
Flight attendants are noticing a rise in persons who board planes first from a wheelchair; and then, "miraculously" walk off the plane with no problems upon arrival, rather than wait to be the last off the plane.
