The arrest of a teenager who apparently intended to hijack a Southwest Airlines flight should remind us of the three groups of human threats posed to attack the air transport system: terrorists, criminals, and disturbed or disruptive passengers.

Two other recent examples of disturbed young people who viewed aviation as a forum for their intentions:
2002 - Fifteen-year-old Charles Bishop deliberately crashed his general aviation aircraft into a downtown Tampa office building.
1999 ? It is revealed by law enforcement that Columbine High School gunman Eric Harris had developed extensive plans to hijack an aircraft and fly it into the Empire State Building.
